Malbim, whose real name was Meyer L\u00f6busch Weisser and who was a proven Talmudist, served as rabbi for Russian Jews in the years 1875-1879. During these years he also completed his famous commentary on the Pentateuch under the title &#8220;Hatorah we-hamizwah.&#8221;<br\/>Ezra Munk came to Koenigsberg as a student and received her doctorate in 1890. Three years later, after receiving his rabbinical diploma, he was employed by the congregation of Adass Yisroel.
